MANDATE AND ORGANIZATION
PURPOSE
1. To improve and maintain the garden and lawn areas of Riverwoods in conjunction with the Management, Board of Directors and Committees of the Co-op.
2. To develop procedures and policies for approval by the Board of Directors and General Membership.
3. To report to and educate members in all areas regarding grounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To be knowledgeable about and aware of any agreements affecting the Co-op's ground area.
2. To monitor requirements of the grounds.
3. To develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures as follows:
i) which members are responsible for designated areas
ii) upkeep and fertilization of lawns
iii)purchasing plants, soil, fertilizer, gardening equipment
iv) improvements to ground areas of Co-op
v) organize and oversee cleanups and plantings
vi) organize and purchase plants for the benefit of the Co-op.
4. Create systems which ensure timely and accurate reporting.
5. To co-ordinate long range grounds planning and improvements, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, Management and Committees.
6. To ensure system continuity and adherence to allotted budget.

ORGANIZATION AND COMPOSITION
Chairperson
• Calls monthly meetings and prepares agendas
• Chairs meetings in an orderly, fair and effecient manner.
• To advise Newsletter of discussions at meetings.
• To represent the Grounds Committee in an official capacity.
• To oversee the overall co-ordination of Grounds Committee business and activities.
• To familiarize a successor with the duties of the Chairperson
• Develops annual budget proposal for approval by Finance Committee.
• To report to the Board of Directors and General Membership.
Treasurer
• Keeps Committee Accounts
Recording Secretary
• Records all minutes of Grounds Committee meetings
• Type and distribute minutes and agendas to committee members, the office and the Board.
Members At Large
• To attend all meetings
• To perform duties as delegated by Grounds Committee.
• To become knowledgeable about general co-op grounds matters, including Riverwoods.
MEETINGS
• Regular Grounds Committee meetings will be held once a month to monitor the needs of the Co-operative, unless otherwise notified by the Chairperson.
• Recycling Committee representative is expected to attend our month meeting as a Sub-Committee.
QUORUM
• Three (3) members.
